Streatham Hill residents mistake fur scarf for 'skinned cat'

Animal rescue teams had a pleasant surprise when a skinned cat hanging from a tree turned out to be a scarf.

Worried residents phoned the RSCPA to report what they thought was a dead animal in Kirkstall Road, Streatham Hill.

But when inspector Becky London (pictured) arrived at the scene, she discovered the object was in fact a fur shrug.

She said: “I was relieved it was not a cat, but it is nice to show people we take these reports seriously and will always go out to investigate when we suspect an animal has suffered.”

It's a hideous scarf/shrug - and if it's not actually real fur, it's very convincing!

It's very easy to do, I've just noticed I have been wearing my pet cat 'Pilchard' around my shoulders for the past two weeks.
