South West Trains passengers experienced travel chaos this morning when a fire broke out on an empty train.
SWT confirmed there was a "small mechanical fire" on a train near Queenstown Road station at around 9am and all trains going through were ground to a halt.
The train company said: "No passengers were travelling on the train at the time, and the fire extinguished itself in a matter of minutes."
However, delays are expected to last into Friday afternoon between Clapham Junction and Waterloo.
The company warned passengers can expect delays of up to 25 minutes.
