An extraordinary pirate retreat nestled in the suburbs is in line to be named shed of the year.
Keith Brown’s Caribbean-inspired complex, which includes not only two fully stocked bars, but also a moat guarded by cannon, has made it through to the final of Channel 4’s Amazing Spaces Shed of the Year programme.
Listed in the pub category, the retreat, hidden away in Suffield Close, Selsdon, needs public votes to see off competition including sheds with a nightclub theme in Chobham, Surrey, a biker bar in Sussex and a distillery in the Scottish Highlands.
Keith Brown has a motorised zip-wire so he can bring grog up to his getaway
