Youngsters who have been taking extra maths and English classes have been rewarded for their achievements.
Medals and certificates were handed out to children studying one to three years above the level of the school academic year at a Kumon awards ceremony.
And pupils who have not yet reached the level of the advanced student honor roll were given achievement awards.
One of the people watching the event in Thornton Heath was Croydon’s mayor Councillor Manju Shahul-Hameed.
Coun Shahul-Hameed, who herself is a Kumon parent, said: “Kumon has helped boost my children's confidence, improve their concentration and most importantly they can solve maths very quickly in a short period of time, which has been acknowledged by their teachers."
Kumon Education provides maths and English tuition.
