A mentoring project which is helping to get young men and dads into employment is well on its way to its 300 target.
Mighty Men of Valour has been running the scheme at the Family Centre, Fieldway, New Addington, for about two weeks and has already helped 10 men get jobs.
And, at the official launch on Friday, the mayor Councillor Manju Shahul-Hameed spoke to some of the staff about the work.
This includes helping people get into work including apprenticeships, work placements, advice about self employment, parenting skills and men’s health, and training in personal finance and budgeting.
It is running for a year and wants to get 300 men into work.
Anyone interested in the project can go to the Family Centre between 3pm and 5pm on Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 3pm for details.
