Holywood actress Lindsay Lohan was in Mitcham on Friday with some mates to sample the delights of an award-winning curry house.

The actress, who recently cleaned-up her act after repeated stints in rehab and even prison due to drug and alcohol issues, had a meal with friends at Chak89 in Bond Road on Friday afternoon.

She is currently starring in a London theatre production of Speed-the-Plow.

Frank Khalid, Chak89 owner, said: "She came across as a fantastic personality, really down-to-earth.

"I was a bit worried about what kind of person we would get but she was really warm and everyone could approach her."
