He was crossing Battersea Rise at the junction with Northcote Road, on November 15, last year, when he was hit by a man in a Ford Puma.

"I was left for dead in the middle of the road and the accident will have a huge impact on my ability to work and look after my family. I’m going to need treatment for my injuries for a long time and I will need specialist support to try and help me return to work."

Anna Pask, from Irwin Mitchell solicitors, said: "Mr Robinson was very seriously injured in this road traffic collision and is now facing a long recovery battle to get himself back on track."
