The 21-year-old man who was shot outside his Battersea home this week has been named as Sebastian Jamal Hyman-Knight.

Police were called to reports of a shot fired in Tennyson Street, on Thursday night, and found the father-of-one with a gunshot wound in the street.

A 30-year-old man was arrested this morning on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at a south London police station.

Neighbours described Mr Hyman-Knight as a “quiet and nice” man who was often seen with his young son.

He was rushed to hospital, but died in the early hours of Friday morning.

A post-mortem examination will take place today at St George's Hospital in Tooting.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating and an incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Charles King.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation should call the incident room on 020 8721 4205, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
