A woman was attacked and mugged by two men as she walked along a dirt track.

The ordeal took place on the track between Reigate Road and Chetwode Road, near Chetwode Road, Tadworth, between 5.30pm and 6pm on Monday, October 22.

The woman in her 50s was approached from behind by the men, who pushed her to the ground and assaulted her. The men then made off in the direction of Chedwode Road with her purse.

The men were white and in their late teens or early twenties.

The first man was slim, around 5ft 5in, with black hair, and was wearing a black hooded jacket, motorbike gloves and white trainers.

The other man was large, around 5ft 8in, with ginger hair, and was also wearing motorbike gloves.

Detective Constable Andy Cooper said: "I would urge anyone who was in the Chetwode Road area of Tadworth at the time of the incident who recalls seeing two men matching these descriptions to give us a call.

"The victim was left injured and shaken as a result of this incident and we are doing all we can to identify these two men and ensure that justice is carried out."
