Police appeal for witnesses following assault and attempted robbery moments apart in Beddington Park
Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery and assault moments apart in Beddington Park.
Three men wearing balaclavas approached a 25 year old man between 9.15 and 9.40pm on Friday October 12 and demanded money, but the victim put up a fight and his assailants made off.
Moments later, a 60-year-old man was walking through the park accompanied by a 47-year-old woman when they were approached by three men and a woman.
The man walking through the park was punched and kicked. He then screamed out whilst the woman he was with ran off. The victim was taken to hospital suffering a cut to the head and dislocated shoulder.
No property was taken during either incident.
Sutton detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the park at this time and may have seen or heard these incidents.
In particular, police are keen for a white woman walking her dog to come forward. She was believed to have been nearby during the second incident.
One of the suspects is described as white, aged 19-21 years old. He was wearing a brown balaclava, a dark coloured zip-up jacket and dark trousers.
There are two other male suspects who are described as wearing dark clothing.
A woman is believed to have been involved in the second incident. She is described as white, aged 18-19yrs, slim build, with shoulder length wavy dark hair. She was wearing a white top and dark trousers.
