Sutton Music Festival needs volunteers

Sutton Music Festival will be suspended unless volunteers come forward.

The committee is urgently looking for two volunteers to take over halls and front of house management during November.

Any help would also be appreciated in stewarding, catering, and publicity.

Unless help is forthcoming the event which has run for 78 years, will not be able to take place.

Judith Burton, the chair of Sutton Music Festival said: "I must stress that we still have a dedicated support team of some 50 helpers, whom we value greatly.

"Many of them have given an enormous amount of their time over the years but understandably they feel unable to take on any further responsibility.

"We have therefore reached a point where there are insufficient people to fill the key positions listed above and unless we can find new volunteers to provide the managerial help we need, the 2012 Festival will have to be suspended."

The festival takes place during the last three weekends of November and one day in December.
