A pink, limited edition Mercedes-Benz Smart Car is being auctioned to raise money for the Royal Marsden hospital in Sutton.

The car is part of the Pink Passion series, created to publicise the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. Only one hundred Pink Passion cars are being produced and they will only be on sale in the UK.

The car is being auctioned at 1pm on November 22 by British Car Auctions (BCA) in Blackbushe, Camberley.

BCA have agreed to waive their usual fee and all proceeds raised above the cost of the car will be donated to the Royal Marsden.

The idea for the auction came from Fred Andy, a former patient who was successfully treated at the hospital in 2009.

Mr Andy said: "The surgeons, doctors and nursing staff at the Royal Marsden do marvellous work in the most difficult of circumstances and their dedication and kindness is an example to us all."
