The grieving family of a murdered father have been shocked by a Facebook page honouring their son’s killer.

David Stevenson, 28, was stabbed to death with two kitchen knives at the New Inn pub on August 9 last year.

At the Old Bailey in June, Lee Cooper, 25, of Typhoon Way, Wallington, was jailed for 22 years for the murder.

As the first anniversary of Mr Stevenson’s death approaches, his family have been shocked to discover an internet page dedicated to Mr Cooper on social networking site Facebook.

Mr Stevenson’s father’s partner Sylvie said: “We are raging, I mean please – it is two weeks to the day that it happened.

“It is hard enough trying to get over living without him.”

His sister-in-law, Samantha Shirley, said the page was “disrespectful and hurtful”.

A complaint has been lodged with the police, but they have said it is not a criminal matter.

A message on the page read: “I’m a family man who has two beautiful babies and a great family who’s [sic] also stood beside me.

“My beautiful babies mean everything to me and I can’t wait to see them again soon.

“Leave me messages and post your pictures and I’ll keep you posted on how I’m doing.”

After being contacted by the Sutton Guardian, Facebook disabled the page.
