A 13-year-old Sutton school boy has won a sought-after scholarship to study at elite public school Eton from this September.

Dennis Sun, a pupil at Homefield School in Sutton, was competing against more than a hundred other students. He took exams in English, maths and science and also had to sit a general exam which he said contained “all manner of weird things” including philosophical questions and even decoding a cipher. He said he is looking forward to starting at the school and the experience of boarding for the first time.
