Charities have received a £1,000 cash boost from the Worcester Park branch of Waitrose.
The superstore has donated the money as part of its community matters scheme.
The Children’s Trust in Tadworth, the Multiple Sclerosis Society north Surrey branch and Crohn’s in Childhood Research Association have all received cash.
Branch manager Steve Clapp said: “Community matters has got off to a great start and we are so pleased to see our customers taking an interest in local causes.
“We believe strongly in the welfare of our local community and are so pleased that we can support its residents.
“Hundreds of votes were cast and we expect more as we continue to select three different causes each month.”
Mr Clapp said the scheme would continue in the coming year with next month’s charities already chosen. They include Emma’s Bubble Trust for teenagers suffering from cancer, St Raphael’s Hospice and the Retired Greyhound Trust.
