A cat’s body was so mutilated an animal welfare group was unable to establish what sex it was, sparking fears the Croydon Cat Killer may have struck again.

The large tabby found in the front garden of a home in Wallington near Beddington Park on Thursday (May 18) has not yet been identified, South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty (SNARL) stated.

In a post on the group’s Facebook page, a spokesperson wrote: “The cat bore injuries that are a match to the UK animal killer.

“Due to the injuries we can't tell what sex the cat is.”

SNARL believe one person - sometimes known as the Croydon Cat Killer, UK Cat Killer or the M25 Animal Killer - is behind the murder and mutilation of more than 200 animals in recent years.
