A cannabis factory in Wallington was closed down and a 24-year-old woman sentenced for growing 16 plants and possessing cocaine after a police raid.
The woman, Jessie Watkins, was sentenced at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, July 1, to 60 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 and court charges of £180 after pleading guilty to attempting to produce cannabis and possessing cannabis and cocaine.
It comes after officers from Sutton police carried out a drugs warrant at her Manor Road home on Thursday, April 30.
A spokesman for Sutton police said: "A search of the premises revealed a small cannabis factory consisting of seven mature plants and nine, half grown plants. Officers also found a further quantity of cannabis and a wrap of cocaine.
"Watkins told officers that the cannabis was for her own personal use.
"She said the cocaine belonged to a friend but refused to reveal details beyond his Christian name."
