A heavy-duty metal door has been used to seal off the entrance to a flat that had become a "magnet for drugs use".

The home was closed off after a full closure notice was issued against the flat on the third floor of Pamir Court, Worcester Road, Sutton, on Friday June 26.

The closure, the first of its kind in the borough under new legislation, was obtained from Wimbledon Magistrates Court, and bans anyone from staying or living in the flat until Friday, September 25.

David Wright, housing officer at Orbit South, said: "Anti-social behaviour is unacceptable and has a negative impact on neighbours and the general community.

"Orbit does not tolerate it and takes reported incidents seriously.

"We recognise that the varied nature of anti-social behaviour requires different approaches, depending on the specific circumstances of each case.

"Therefore, we are committed to tailor our approach to the needs of the local community and to the individuals affected."
