The serial rapist who attacked women and schoolgirls as they walked through Sutton parks is to be sentenced on Friday, June 19.

Daniel Elliot, 24, of Rosewell Close, Anerley, was found guilty at Croydon Crown Court last month of five charges, two of rape, one of attempted rape and two of sexual assault, against three females.

It took little over half a day for a jury of seven men and five women to find Elliot unanimously guilty of all charges.

During the first attack Elliott grabbed a Polish woman from behind as she walked through Mellows Park before groping her.

The second took place in Beddington Park when he attacked a schoolgirl's boyfriend before raping her.

Elliot would later rape a schoolgirl in Grove Park, again after attacking and threatening the girl's boyfriend.

The attacks all took place between August 3 and November 15, 2014 a few months after Elliot was released from a young offenders institute where he served 63 months for raping an exchange student in 2010.

Elliot had previously pleaded not guilty to all five counts and had claimed that semen found in Grove Park that matched his DNA was found because he regularly masturbated and had sex with his girlfriend in the park.

He is due to be sentenced at Croydon Crown Court on Friday, June 19.
