The family of a toddler who suffers such unpredictable and violent seizures she must wear a helmet have held a fundraiser that attracted more than 100 people.

Lyla Nash’s family, from Worcester Park, organised the event at North Cheam Social Club on Monday to raise money for the Epilepsy Society.

The money raised went to the charity which has supported the three-year-old girl, who suffers from tonic-clonic seizures. Mum Tracey, 38, said she was astonished that the event had raised more than £1,100.

She said: “I am absolutely overwhelmed that people came out and donated their money for the charity.

“Lyla only lasted 20 minutes at the day before we took her home, it was all a bit much for her.

“She was treated like a little celebrity and I think the large crowds overwhelmed her.

“But I am so happy that people came to the fun day. I can’t explain how much it means to have had the support for everyone who supported us on the day.”

The Nash family will continue to raise money for charity with dad Wayne, 37, taking part in a skydive in June.
