A suspected drug den was closed in a Bonchurch Close flat off Ventor Road, Sutton, on Monday, February 16.
Officers from Sutton police arrested a 30-year-old man and seized about 15 plants, pictured, after executing a warrant at the flat.
Sergeant Paul Cole said police were acting on information received from the community and urged residents to contact police if they believed an address was being used for drugs purposes.
He said: “Residents do not have to put up with criminals in their neighbourhoods.
“We treat all reports seriously and will act to put a stop to such behaviour.”
Officers from Sutton south safer neighbourhoods team said they searched the flat after being let in.
They found about 15 plants in a tent in a bedroom and a couple of further plants in a cupboard.
Suspected drugs were also found in boxes and mixing type bowls.
All suspected drugs along with £970 cash were seized.
The man who was detained at a south London police station, was arrested for cultivation of cannabis and possession with intent to supply.
