The owner of a large black dog which attacked a 63-year-old woman in a Hackbridge park, has been identified by Sutton police.
The animal bit the woman on her upper right thigh as she fought it off with a shopping trolley.
A member of the public intervened and stopped the attack, which took place in Orchard Avenue Recreation Ground at 10.20am on Tuesday, December 9.
The dog, which police believe to be called Barney, is said to have short black hair and to be as big as a greyhound.
The dog owner was described as white, between 20 to 30 years old, and having short brown hair.
She was also said to be wearing a blue jacket.
Sutton police are speaking to everyone involved.
