The teenager accused of stabbing a schoolboy in Rosehill, Sutton, has appeared at Croydon Crown Court for a preliminary hearing to face charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon.

The accused, now 16, cannot be named after the court imposed reporting restrictions on the case to protect his identity on Tuesday.

He is alleged to have stabbed a 15-year-old boy in an attack at around 2.30pm on Friday, October 24 after he had got off the 151 bus.

His next appearance is scheduled for a plea and case management hearing on February 9 with any trial scheduled for July 25.
