Fire engines were sent from Sutton, Wallington and Mitcham stations
An elderly man was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after his flat caught fire in Sutton this morning.
London Fire Brigade were called out at 10.27am, and sent four fire engines and around 20 fire fighters to the blaze in Blackbush Close.
The man’s flat was partially damaged, while the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
