To pee, or not to pee, that is the question, and campaigning students say when in the shower there should be only one answer.

The contentious campaign calling for people to wee while taking their daily shower, called #gowiththeflow, has been dreamed up by 20-year-olds Debs Torr and Chris Dobson, as a way of saving water.

Miss Torr, of Mitchley Avenue, Riddlesdown, said this will save the 12 litres of water used each time a toilet is flushed.

The pair say if everyone in the United Kingdom took part this could be a saving of 720 million litres of water.

The former Wallington School for Girls pupil said: "To be honest, for me it is nice to get recognition for something I have been doing for years.

"It saves water and we want people to be proud of weeing in the shower because of the environmental impact.

"Even if people do not want to wee in the shower the campaign is getting them to consider their water usage."

The couple came up with the campaign after seeing a poster at their university, University for East, Anglia, for the Npower’s national future leaders challenge competition.

Students have to come up with an environmental initiative on their campus and the winners will get a trip to the Amazon.
