This heavily matted cat was rescued in Mitcham on Tuesday, and brought into the Riverside Animal Centre in Wallington.
Named Mo-Mo, the moggy is 20-year-old, and made minimal fuss when staff gave her a hair cut.
The cat is chipped to an address in Tadworth, Epsom, but the attributed phone number is out of date.
Ted Burden, who runs the Riverside Animal Centre, said: "This is by far the most appalling matting I have ever seen, but she has let me clip most of it in a single sitting and made little fuss.
"We now have a full carrier bag of matted clumps."
