Criminals stole two identical luxury cars from separate addresses across Sutton last week.
The grey Audi A3 models were taken overnight on Friday September 19, from River Gardens in Carshalton, and Link Road in Wallington.
Police believe they may have been stolen to order and possibly shipped overseas - with each car worth about £25,000.
Spare car keys were stolen from the property in Link Road, but with no sign of forced entry, officers think a device may have been used to open the front door.
Keys were also taken from the house in River Gardens, where the front door may have been left open by mistake.
Detective Chief Inspector Jane Corrigan said: "It is sound advice to make sure your home and vehicle are locked and secure, and to take your keys to bed with you."
