A recycling scheme for businesses in Sutton town centre has reportedly saved nearly 40 tonnes of waste from going into landfill.
The figure has been published by First Mile, the company who carry out the service.
The Successful Sutton initiative has only been running a year, and encourages companies to recycle their rubbish instead of chucking it away.
The amount of recycled waste from Sutton town centre peaked at 7 tonnes in May- the highest amount since the scheme was introduced in June last year.
Successful Sutton is the town centre’s business improvement district, which works to make the high street area a better place to shop.
