Football-loving youngsters got the chance kick off their coaching careers, in an initiative designed to tackle anti-social behaviour.

Twenty five young people took part in the sessions, where they were judged on their attitude, football skills, and ability to teach.

The best five coaches won limited edition Nike footballs worth £150 each, which were donated by Sport Social Change.

Sutton United FC’s club mascot Jenny the Giraffe also swung by to meet the participants.

The joint-initiative is run by the Sutton Housing Partnership and Sutton police, and sessions were held at the David Weir Leisure Centre in Carshalton.
