A man has been found dead by police in a flat on Lind Road
Polcie were called to Eleonora Terrace off Lind Road, Sutton, just before 3pm this afternoon after a member of the public raised concerns.
They entered a flat and discovered a man dead at the scene. Enquiries are on-going but the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Shortly after 5pm, fire officers were called and the road was closed while the scene was made safe, in case of hazardous gases.
Four fire engines and one command unit attended, as well as an ambulance and two police patrol cars.
Witnesses at the scene described seeing police in the area, before there was a flurry of activity just after 5pm.
Georgina Bull, from The Nightingale Pub, which sits on the corner of Lind Road and Carshalton Road, said: "We think it might be a carbon monoxide leak in a flat. Police have been here a while and now there is a fire engine, three command unit vans and an ambulance."
The road has now been reopened to traffic.
