It sounds like the plot from a dodgy rom-com.

But a woman's attempt to find a man she enjoyed a brief flirtation with in Ibiza could lead to love after all, despite her finding out that he already has a girlfriend.

Julia Cross, 33, a PR consultant from Clapham, may have given up hope on romance with Martin, the mystery man she lost contact with after they met in an Ibiza nightclub.

However, since going public with her story she has been invited on a string of dates by intrigued male admirers.

An e-mail account, set up to reunite the couple who met on holiday, was inundated with e-mails from men eager to take out Miss Cross. One e-mail, from 43-year-old Martin Brown, read: "I live in Auckland, NZ. I travel to the UK yearly and know Clapham well. When I read your story my heart went out to you. Then I saw your photo and thought he's a fool as he's let a good catch go."

Glen wrote: "You look fabulous by the way, so if it all comes to nothing I'm 39 and very available."

Frankie, 36, who also works in PR wrote: "I'm shocked a girl like you is single anyway."

Miss Cross was left lamenting a lost opportunity last September after she shared a kiss with Martin but nothing came of it because she accidentally gave him the wrong number.

A search to find him was launched by Miss Cross' friends and Martin O'Kane came forward claiming to be the mysterious stranger.

However, he broke any chances of a reunion by revealing he was very much taken.

Miss Cross and Mr O'Kane have refused to comment, but judging by the e-mails Julia is getting this modern-age love story could still have a happy ending.
