Two men who left a train passenger with a fractured cheekbone following an attack are wanted by police.

British Transport Police officers have released CCTV images of the men they want to talk to in connection with the incident on the train between London Bridge and Norwood Junction on Friday, November 25.

The victim, a 53-year-old from Crowborough, had asked men if they could quieten down as they were talking together loudly.

The men took exception to his request and attacked the man, leaving him with a fractured cheekbone, a deep laceration to the nose and whiplash.

The incident took place at about 11.20pm on the Uckfield-bound service.

The men, both wearing suits, left the train at Norwood Junction and had been heard discussing how they could to get to Croydon.

Detective Constable Carole Holmes, the investigating officer, said: “This was a nasty attack on a man who had simply asked the men to talk a little quieter.

“We are treating this incident very seriously and are determined to identify those responsible.

“If you have any information about the incident, or can tell us who the men in the CCTV images are, we want to hear from you.”
