Members of Streatham Baptist Church helped form part of a 250 crowd that fused songs, drama and life stories in a celebration on Streatham Green.
The event, on Sunday, August 22, was part of the Love Streatham initiative – which allowed people from a range of churches to make positive changes to the community.
A spokesman for the church said participants came from 52 nationalities and passersby stopped for information on community events for young and old.
Team pastor Reverend Terry Moran said: “In what continues to be a difficult social and economic time for many people in our community, including those within our churches, it was good to share some joy through our singing together and a hope for the future as we seek to support and love one another.”
The group also presented flowers to Alf and Rene Tyler, who celebrated their platinum anniversary – 70 years – on August 24.
