A dad-of-two has been found not guilty of shooting a former policeman in the leg outside a barber shop.

Christopher Powell, 31, from Croydon, was accused of blasting barber Dean Longford, 32, with a shotgun after finding out the mother of his two children, Sabrina Edwards, was dating him.

The shooting took place on August 21, 2008, outside Designer Cutz in Greyhound Lane, Streatham.

But at Inner London Crown court on Friday, August 27, a jury cleared Mr Powell of possession of an offensive weapon with intent, possession of ammunition with intent and grievous bodily harm with intent.

During his trial, Mr Powell said he had been in a tattoo parlour in Streatham High Road at the time of the shooting.
