The company managing Lambeth’s council housing has announced the appointment of a new chief executive amid concerns about serious financial difficulties.
ALMO Lambeth Living has been asked to make millions of pounds of cuts to its service in the wake of a projected £10m overspend by the council’s housing department.
New boss Cathy Deplessis will take over from interim chief executive Pete Redman, who recently stated there were “clearly difficult times ahead” for the ALMO which is axing dozens of staff and stripping back housing maintenance services.
A spokeswoman for Lambeth Living said Ms Deplessis would bring a wealth of experience to the organization.
She is currently chief executive of another ALMO, Stevenage Homes Ltd, and has also worked for the Audit Commission as a housing inspector.
