Four years on from the shooting of Anthony Robinson in Gipsy Hill, police are again appealing for information about his murder.

Anthony, of Westow Hill, Crystal Palace, was shot dead on Bristow Road on October 22, 2003.

Detectives from Operation Trident will be handing out appeal leaflets and speaking to local residents and commuters from 6pm today, hoping to jog their memories and gather information needed to solve the killing.

Police say 28-year-old father-of-one Anthony left his mother's home in Bristow Road about 9pm, driving away in his silver Fiat Punto.

He drove his car a short distance, heading south towards the junction of Berridge Road before stopping ahead of an oncoming dark-coloured saloon.

Detectives believe two black men were in the saloon, both in the front of the car.

Anthony got out of his car and approached the saloon.

The driver of this car was then seen to shoot Anthony at close range a number of times. Anthony was taken to Kings College Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

A post mortem investigation at Greenwich Mortuary gave the cause of death as a single gunshot wound to the back and chest. The bullet passed through his body.

He was also shot in the cheek.

Anyone with information about the killing should phone the police incident room on 020 8247 4554 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
