Trains are delayed between Crystal Palace and Balham via Streatham Hill after a man was hit by a train earlier this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to West Norwood at about 2.30pm after receiving reports of a body on the tracks.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and British Transport Police (BTP) are treating his death as unexplained.
A BTP spokesman said: "Officers are working to identify the man, inform his family and establish how he came to be on the tracks.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
It is not yet known how long services will be disrupted but delays are expected until at least 5.30pm.
