Police have warned a dangerous man with links to Surrey is on the loose after he escaped during a hospital visit.

Dominic Tamblyn, 27, had been in a secure mental health ward at Springfield Hospital yesterday, May 27, after being charged with a bomb hoax, possessing blades and attempted arson.

But he escaped at about 1.20pm while being treated at St George's Hospital in Tooting.

Detectives have warned anyone who sees him to call 999 immediately.

He is described as white, 6ft 4inches tall with long brown hair and a large wispy beard.

He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, white sleeveless vest, dark tracksuit bottoms and black trainers with yellow and green trim.

Tamblyn is known to areas across London and in Surrey.

If you have information on where he is call Wandsworth police on 0208 247 8495.

And what makes them think they will catch him the next time, if they could not keep him under guard the first time.

seems to an increase in escapees from these units, likely that he would have shaved his beard and had a short back and side by now.

So firstly it takes almost two days before the people of London & Surrey are warned, & as Jim says he could be totally different by now. Then there is the pole played by Springfield Hospital. Their record at keeping hold of their charges is an absolute disgrace. Two escapees earlier this year, a number of incidents of unsuitable persons being found out & about when unstable as well. They should be relieved of this with immediate effect.

Oh come on! he can't be that bad if our tax paid guardians let him swan out so easily!

As Hove Ex-Pat said, 2 days to inform London and Surrey but, ahem this is the first time I've heard about this and only because I keep the occasional check on the Local Guardian website.

I just looked and can't see anything on London or Surrey BBC sites and not heard it on any other news.... so 'The Public' haven't really been made aware of this 'dangerous' man being on the loose!

And to state that he escaped from a 'secure' ward rather negates the use of that word I would have thought!

Actually just re read it and see that he escaped from St George's so hopefully the ward at The Springfield is secure, although I thought that site had been closed and turned into a housing estate, not been past there for a while.
