South London is bracing itself for more strong winds today.

After Tuesday's battering, commuters this morning were once again battling strong winds as speeds rose across the UK, with forecasters warning of gusts between 50mph and 70mph.

And the Met Office was predicting the stormy weather would continue, although they said we could also expect some sunny breaks.

A forecaster said: "A strong and blustery northwesterly wind during the morning will be accompanied by scattered showers.

"During the afternoon wind speeds will slightly ease with breaks in the cloud bringing some bright and sunny conditions. Maximum temperature 10 °C."

And there was more good news, as the forecast predicted falling winds as the evening draws in, although a frost could come.

The forecaster added: "A dry and clear night. Winds continuing to ease, bringing a cold night. A frost is likely to develop in sheltered locations."

However, winds are likely to increase throughout the day on Friday, he warned.

I braced myself but it didn't stop the wind from ripping off my shed roof covering and dumping it in the middle of the lawn.

Would these be the same 'strong winds' described by ITV Weather as 'breezy'???? Where I am in Carshalton is most definitely not 'breezy'. A breeze would not knock a motorbike over!!!!
