Photographers wanted for Orleans House exhibition

Exhibits: Orleans House is a great setting to display work Exhibits: Orleans House is a great setting to display work

Amateur and professional photographers have been encouraged to enter their pictures into an exhibition and get the chance to see them displayed in Orleans House Gallery.

Anyone who enjoys using a camera can submit their images on any theme before September 30.

The selectors will be looking for entrants to have an eye for a picture, originality and prints that they have executed and mounted well.

A distinguished panel, chaired by Jay Charnock, chairman of the Visual Art Group of the Royal Photographic Society and the Richmond and Twickenham Photographic Society, will choose which photographs to hang in the Twickenham gallery’s Octagon room.

The biennial exhibition is a public showcase for the work of all photographers in the area.

The selectors have particularly encouraged street photography shots taken while out and about that capture people, places and events in the moment.

Entries can also include portraits, landscapes, sport, humour, patterns, texture or foreign travel.

They need to have taken the pictures any time between January 1 and September 30 this year and must not have displayed them at any other exhibition.

Entrants will also be encouraged to sell copies of their photographs to members of the public.

Photography exhibition; the Octagon room at Orleans House Gallery, Twickenham; Thursday, October 25, to Sunday, October 28.
