A four-piece band described as a mixture of Nirvana, Pink Floyd and Radiohead, are hoping to add their names to the long list of musical talent from the area.
Face of Innovation, comprising of Richmond College pupils Oli Ferris, 17, Sam Webster-Bell, 18, Tom Mitten, 18, and Joey Tomlinson, 18, could be on the way to stardom after making it through to the regional finals of this year’s Live and Unsigned competition.
If they impress the judges with their musical talent on February 28, they will be entered into the finals where they will go head to head in a battle of the bands at the O2 arena, in London.
But lead singer and guitarist Oli said the band members, who met each other at Orleans Park School, Twickenham, are far from nervous, despite having to play a cover and an original number in front of a live audience and top music judges.
He said: “We’re quite a cocky band. We haven’t decided what cover song to do yet. We like to think our music is for all ages.”
