Jools Holland wows the crowds at Kneller Hall concert

It was another record year at Kneller Hall as thousands of concert-goers danced through the night to the sounds of jazz, blues and rock n roll.

Former Squeeze musician and TV presenter Jools Holland topped the bill at Saturday’s open-air concert, rounding off a line-up of acts including Monck, the band of the Coldstream Guards, Tanked Up, from the Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band and the Rifles band Liquid Lunch.

He performed on stage with soul diva Ruby Turner, accompanied by the Army Big Band.

Thousands attended the night which also showcased the talents of up-and-coming musicians in a Battle of the Bands-style contest.

This was the fourth year the Rhythm Force concert was held in the Royal Military School of Music’s grounds in Kneller Road, Whitton, where members of the armed forces’ 32 bands receive their initial training.

Proceeds from the night will be donated to the Army Benevolent Fund, which provides support to serving and former soldiers in times of need, and the British Forces Foundation.
