Richmond Council have announced changes to waste and recycling collections for domestic properties.

After the May bank holiday on May 29, the council will carry out the collections – including garden waste collections - one day later than usual in the borough.

There will be no change for businesses receiving commercial waste and recycling services and normal domestic schedules will resume a week later on May 8.

Residents are being asked to ensure they put out their waste early on their collection day but to refrain from putting it out the day before to avoid bags being ripped and roads littered.

The council are urging everyone to take note that securely tied sacks are used when leaving waste on the streets or bins with lids to prevent animal attacks.
