A predator who drove around Hounslow picking up schoolgirls has been jailed for a string of sexual offences against children.

Jacky Jhaj, 31, offered children from a school in Feltham lifts in his car, buying them alcohol and taking them to parties, where other pupils were also present.

He began relationships with pupils at the school, and groomed them, Metropolitan Police said.

He then had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, knowing her age, and engaged in sexual activity with another girl, also 15.

He was 29 at the time, but told them he was 21.

In September Jhaj was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with two underage girls at Isleworth Crown Court.

In April Jhaj was also found guilty of handling stolen goods. He was jailed for four years for all the offences together on Tuesday, November 29.

Jhaj claimed he befriended the schoolchildren because he was conducting “covert research” for a screenplay he had been commissioned to write.

He said he was a film producer, and claimed to have worked on a Hollywood blockbuster as an executive producer, Metropolitan Police said.

Detective constable Nav Johal, the investigating officer, said: "Thanks to the courage and bravery of the young vulnerable victims who gave evidence, a dangerous sexual predator has been brought to justice.

“I am hopeful that the verdict and sentencing will give them some peace and closure, and they will be able to, in time, move forward from this difficult period.

"Joint partnership with schools work is crucial to continue to tackle offences related to grooming and this case highlights the importance of working in partnership to ensure such offenders are apprehended.

"Continued education of children at school and at home on such matters is important and they can, in turn, hopefully highlight any concerns to the police and other relevant authorities."
