Commuters face delays between Barnes and Twickenham this morning due to a level crossing failure.

National Rail engineers fixed the crossing at North Sheen station, after it failed at about 4am. It advised there would be delays on the line until about 11am, and that trains between Barnes and Twickenham may be cancelled or delayed.

South West Trains later tweeted that trains were running but a 20mph speed limit was in place.

National Rail also advised commuters could instead use Southern services between Clapham Junction and London Bridge or London Victoria, or the London Underground from Hounslow Central, Richmond and Putney stations.

Manor Road, which intersects the line, is also closed both ways between the A316 Lower Mortlake Road and the A305 Sheen Road, according to Transport for London.
