A fire broke out at the Prem Indian restaurant yesterday afternoon in Teddington High Street.

Martin Dore was in the Teddington Arms when the blaze took hold at about 3.40pm on Sunday, September 11, and went outside to see what was happening.

Mr Dore said: “I saw smoke billowing out so I walked round the back to see.

"About four or five fire engines and a fire command unit came and succeeded in putting the fire out within about 20 minutes.”

According to witnesses no one was injured and at this stage it is unclear how the fire started.
