A child who was “threatening pupils with a knife” was arrested from a special educational needs school on Friday.
Police confirmed they were called at just before 1pm to reports a young male was on the field at Clarendon School in Hampton threatening people with what was believed to be a knife.
They arrested the student and no one was injured.
Clarendon headteacher John Kipps said: “I can confirm that there was an incident at the school in which the police are involved.
“We are helping them with their enquiries. We cannot comment further at this stage.
“The safety and wellbeing of pupils is at the heart of what we do here at Clarendon and can confirm that all procedures were followed to ensure that everyone in our school community remained safe.”
