Phone system and contact centre solutions provider Foehn has been recognised for its innovative approach at the Richmond Business Awards.

The business, which won the prize for innovation in 2015, was commended for its creative approach when helping its clients redefine their customer service.

Chief executive James Passingham said being part of the Chamber of Commerce and involved in the awards was an important part of widening awareness about the company and getting to know other businesses in the area.

He said: “We have found that the awards we’ve won certainly help us to showcase our company in and around the Richmond area but also much faurther afield.

“We have local customers and the awards are further endorsement that those customers are partnered with a ‘Best of Richmond’ company.

“And if other local companies see what we are achieving and are looking to improve their business communications system, they pick up the phone to Foehn.”

Chamber of Commerce chief executive Anne Newton said innovation was key to the local economy’s future prosperity and asked businesses to show off their own processes via the awards.

She said: “Last year Foehn UK successfully impressed our independent judges and so were worthy winners of the Best Innovation Richmond Business Awards Trophy.

“It is no surprise, therefore, to us that they continue to grow and achieve great things.”

Mr Passingham highlighted how the borough has a growing technology scene as web giants eBay, PayPal and retailer Not on the High Street have settled in Richmond.

He said: “I think company owners also realise that when we spend most of our time working, it’s important to be in a good area that is well connected, with beautiful parkland, shops and restaurants.

“The vibe and aesthetic appeal is important for a better quality of working life which makes for a happier business community.”

Mr Passingham highlighted how the company strived to say yes to technological innovation while delighting its customers, which he believed played a part in its recognition at the awards.

He said: “We may not be the biggest, but we are fast and try to break the boundaries with what’s possible with business telephony technology in a modern world.

“We hope that they see us as innovators that challenge the status quo,” he added.
