A disabled Richmond man who is claiming employment and support allowance (ESA) and has to travel to Barking for assessment is one of the issues highlighted by a recent Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) report.

The report also highlighted the story of a 37-year-old man from the borough with mental health problems who was deprived of £2,200 ESA due to a clerical error.

Richmond Citizens Advice Bureau’s chief executive, Simon Lawson, said it was very disappointing to still have disabled clients in the borough who still don’t receive their full ESA entitlement.
