A woman was tied up, beaten and threatened with a gun in a ‘vicious robbery’ by two men posing as delivery drivers near Twickenham last week.

Residents have been warned to stay vigilant after the two ‘bogus delivery men’ holding a parcel knocked the woman assaulted the woman and left with a ‘large quantity of cash’ after searching the house.

The suspects arrived at the Feltham address at 12pm on Tuesday, April 19, where they tied up the victim, who is in her 40s, with tape before striking her in the head and threatening her with what she believed was a firearm.

The pair are males of medium build; one was wearing a light grey hoodie and a hi-vis vest and the other a brown UPS jacked and brown cap.

They were last seen heading into Westmacott Drive, in Feltham.

Detective Constable James Dickson Leach, from Hounslow CID, said: "This was a violent attack on a woman in her own home and we would like to trace the people responsible as soon as possible.

"The suspects posed as if they were delivering a parcel to get the victim to open the door prior to attacking her.

“We would like to remind everyone to exercise appropriate caution when answering the door, especially if parcels are not expected.”

UPS said: "UPS was informed about the incident which occurred in the Hounslow area involving someone misusing a UPS uniform and is fully cooperating with local authorities.

“As a matter of safety and security it is prudent to ask for an ID from any delivery personnel if you are in doubt."

Information can be reported to Hounslow police on 0208 247 6160 or via 101 – or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
